School avoidance isnβt always what it looks like.
Weβve been navigating some anxiety-based school struggles lately and this week feels like a small shift in the right direction.
Weβre doing three half days for now. Taking the pressure off and focusing on her feeling safe rather than pushing for full attendance straight away.
And itβs helping.
Sheβs still her happy self at home.Sheβs beginning to participate more again.Mornings feel lighter.
The biggest change for us was stopping the βhow do we get her back full time?β mindset and instead asking what would help her feel steady enough to try.
Shorter days. Clear plans. Calm consistency.
Itβs not dramatic progress. Just steady. And right now, steady feels good!
