➡️How important is consistency across my domain, brand, and GMC account name?
100% non-negotiable. Your domain name, brand name, GMC account name, and social media handles all need to match completely. Google cross-references everything and any inconsistency is an immediate red flag. Get this aligned before you do anything else
➡️Does domain age matter?
Yes. Older is always better. Aim for at least 1 month of age before submitting to GMC. Ideally have it registered under your business name using the same Gmail account you'll use for GMC so Google sees a clean, consistent trail from every angle
➡️How should I set up my Gmail before creating a GMC account?
This is one of the most missed steps and it causes a lot of unnecessary suspensions. Create a fresh Gmail dedicated only to GMC and Google Ads
Before you do anything with it, warm it up for several days. Subscribe to newsletters, watch YouTube, send and receive a few emails. The goal is to show normal human activity so Google's systems don't flag it as a suspicious new account the moment it touches GMC
STORE SETUP & COMPLIANCE
➡️What should my store look like before I submit to GMC?
It needs to look like a real brand that real effort went into. Clean UX, consistent contact information everywhere, and all important policies clearly visible
Reviewers spend only 2–3 minutes on your store so the first impression has to be immediately convincing.
➡️What does a proper Return Policy need to include?
Four things at minimum:
- The exact return window (e.g., 30 days)
- Who pays for return shipping
- The condition the item needs to be in
- How the customer initiates a return (email or portal)
Vague return policies are one of the most common suspension triggers.
➡️What does a proper Shipping Policy need to include?
- Realistic delivery timeframes
- Shipping costs
- (Optional) carriers you use
- What happens if a package is lost or delayed
Realistic is the key word. Overpromising delivery times creates misrepresentation risk.
➡️How important is the About Us page?
Most people either skip it or copy a generic template and Google can tell
Your About Us should:
- Have a real brand story
- Explain who you're selling to and why
- Include your mission
- Ideally include unique photos
It’s one of the first things reviewers check to determine legitimacy.
➡️What about other policy pages like Privacy Policy and Terms of Service?
Personalize them. Don’t copy-paste generic templates.
Add a few sentences specific to your store and how you operate. It takes 10 minutes and makes a noticeable difference in how legitimate your store looks.
➡️How long should I wait after building my store before submitting to GMC?
Give it 24–48 hours after your store is live so Google has time to crawl your pages.
To speed it up:
- Use Google Search Console
- Request indexing for key pages (Homepage, Contact, About, policies)
- Resubmit your sitemap
➡️Should I hide empty category menus before submitting to GMC?
Yes. If you're starting with 10–15 products, hide empty categories.
Incomplete navigation looks unprofessional and can raise flags. Only show categories with products.
➡️Can I draft products instead of archiving them?
No. Drafted products are still visible to Google’s crawler.
Always archive products you don’t want Google to see
➡️Can I use compared prices or urgency pricing during initial approval?
Avoid it during the approval phase.
Keep pricing clean and simple. Once your GMC is stable, you can introduce promotions gradually
FEED & PRODUCTS
➡️Should I push all product variants to GMC (sizes, colors, etc.)?
Yes. Push all variants.
Google will test across them and eventually favor the most profitable ones
➡️Can I change product titles after they’re live?
Yes, but do it gradually.
Changing everything at once can trigger disapprovals. Update in batches and monitor Diagnostics.
➡️One of my product images says “will be processed again within 3 days.” What do I do?
Two options:
- Wait for automatic processing
- Manually re-upload the image inside GMC
Both work fine.
MISREPRESENTATION
➡️I got a misrepresentation email but my ads are still running. What should I do?
Don’t panic and don’t change anything yet.
If it’s serious, you’ll see impressions drop and spend stop. If everything is normal, just monitor closely. Sometimes these are warnings, not suspensions.
➡️If I edit my return or shipping policy, will Google re-review my store?
Yes, potentially.
Any major change to policy pages can trigger a re-review. Make edits carefully and avoid changing multiple policies at once.
ACCOUNT SETUP
➡️Does it matter if my GMC Gmail is business or personal?
No. Both work fine.
Most people use personal Gmail accounts. The account name doesn’t affect approval.
Can I run two stores under the same proxy or IP?
No. Keep everything fully separated.
