I just finished a training by Rob Bailey on Database Reactivation โ and wowโฆ this shifted the way I think about lead gen completely. Not because it was โnew.โ But because it was obvious โ and I missed it.
Hereโs the TL;DR:
Youโre chasing new leadsโฆ while ignoring a goldmine of people who already raised their hand.
So letโs play this out with real math:
๐ฆ Imagine you have a database of ๐,๐๐๐ ๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฌ. People who opted in, showed interest, maybe even booked once โ but never converted.
Now what if you sent them a ๐ง๐จ๐ง-๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐ซ via SMS + email (NOT ads)?๐ Something like: "Hey, weโre reopening 10 spots this week for [quick win] โ want in?"
Letโs say you only get a 10% reply rate. Thatโs ๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ ๐ซ๐-๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ โฆ without spending a dime on ads. ๐ซ
Of those, you book just ๐๐% ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ. Thatโs 50 people talking to your sales team.
If even 50% convert? Youโve got ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ฒ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌโ all from your existing database.
๐ต If each client is worth $200? ๐๐ก๐๐ญโ๐ฌ $๐,๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐ง๐๐ฐ ๐ซ๐๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ฎ๐. From leads you already had.
Sitting.
Doing.
Nothing.
๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐ก๐๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐:
- Leads are not the problem. Lack of speed + follow-up is.
- Text beats email. Emails sit unopened. SMS gets read in minutes.
- You don't need fancy tools. You need a simple system that responds fast, nurtures smartly, and keeps leads warm.
I'm now reworking my entire client process around this. Because chasing cold leads is exhausting. But activating warm ones? Thatโs leverage.
๐โโ๏ธ Curious: Have you ever tried reactivating an old list like this? What results did you see?
