Not every teaching that sounds strict is meant to destroy you. Some are meant to protect what is sacred. I walk with a heart that seeks truth, not tradition, and grace, not condemnation. Faith is not about trapping people in shame—it is about restoring what was broken and honoring what God made holy.
Testimony & Story😉
There was a time I wrestled deeply with this question. I saw people carrying heavy guilt, believing that once their life had broken in one place, they were forever disqualified from love, from restoration, from a new beginning. It didn’t sit right in my spirit.
I remember sitting quietly, reading and rereading the words of Jesus, asking, “Are You really this harsh… or are we misunderstanding You?”
And slowly, truth began to unfold.
Jesus was never chasing broken people with condemnation. He was confronting systems that made breaking people easy.
In those days, men could dismiss their wives for almost anything—no real reason, no accountability. Women were left abandoned, vulnerable, and forced into survival. And then… judged for surviving.
Jesus stepped into that injustice and said, “No. You don’t get to discard someone and still call yourself righteous.”
That changed everything for me.
I realized He wasn’t attacking remarriage. He was exposing careless hearts. He was defending covenant, not punishing the wounded.
I saw it clearer: the issue was never a second chance. The issue was a first covenant treated like it meant nothing.
And then I looked at life around me—real people, real pain, real stories. People who tried, who stayed, who forgave… and still faced brokenness beyond their control.
Would a loving God trap them forever in that moment?
No.
God is just. But He is also merciful.
He sees the truth behind every story—not just the outcome.
That understanding didn’t make me take marriage lightly. It made me honor it more. Because covenant is sacred—but so is restoration.
LessonGod does not delight in broken covenants—but He also does not abandon broken people.
There is a difference between rebellion and survival. There is a difference between selfishness and suffering. And God sees both clearly.
Truth is not meant to crush you—it is meant to guide you back into alignment, into healing, and into a life that reflects His heart.
PrayerLord,You are the God who sees beyond what people say and into the truth of every heart.Teach me to understand Your Word with wisdom, not fear.Protect me from judgment that is not from You,And from beliefs that burden more than they heal.
If there are places where I have misunderstood You, gently correct me.If there are wounds in my life, restore them with Your mercy.Help me honor what is sacred,And also trust in Your grace when life has been broken. You are not a God of confusion,But of truth, justice, and love.Lead me in all three.
Amen.
