I know exactly how that feels because I went through every emotion myself when I was younger — nerves, rejection, uncertainty and constantly wondering: “What do I actually need to do to get my opportunity?” I also saw what my dad went through trying to help me. He wanted to do everything he could, but like most parents, he did not always know who to speak to, what opportunities were real, or how to help me get noticed. That has stayed with me. So if you are not actively showcasing yourself, promoting yourself and creating opportunities, there is a very real chance clubs will never even know you exist.
