Let’s Talk Skin Barrier 🧪🧴
I feel like many of you struggle with a damaged skin barrier without even realizing.. 👀 I know a 10-step skincare routine with all the cute serums and trendy actives is fun (I love it too😮‍💨), but skincare isn’t just for aesthetics. 😭 If your skin barrier is irritated, inflamed, or just not vibing lately... it’s time to slow it way down. Before you reach for that retinol or fancy acid, ask yourself: Is my skin even ready for this? 👉 If you’ve been dealing with dryness, sensitivity, random breakouts, or flaking, your barrier might be begging for a break. 🧴 So here’s your first step: Simplify your routine. Strip it down to the essentials ..no actives, no heavy exfoliants, no strong scents. Just calm, nourishing ingredients that actually heal your skin. Look for: Oat extract Aloe vera Allantoin Panthenol Shea butter Ceramides All you need is a gentle, hydrating cleanser → soothing toner → barrier-repairing moisturizer → sunscreen (always). And PLEASE, don’t skip SPF. A compromised barrier means UV rays can do even more damage!! You don’t need every product on the Sephora shelf😗 ..just the right ones, at the right time. Let’s prioritize health before glow, so the glow actually lasts ✨ Want me to rate your skincare routine? Drop a pic in ‘Rate My Routine 🫣🧴’ and add a little context: 1.Your age 2. Skin type 3. Where you live (climate matters!)

No one talking so i will start this off!! 😃😃 So uh i just got some basics to start of with but seem simple but really are very very important! 1. Use gentle, non-comedogenic products (Avoid anything that clogs pores or feels greasy.) 2. Don’t skip moisturizer Even oily areas need hydration—use a oil-free one whichis light ofc . 3. Apply products from thinnest to thickest Cleanser -> toner/serum -> moisturizer -> SPF . 4. Spot treat pimples—don’t pop them Use salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide just on breakouts ( trust its better then popping them its less painful!!) 5. Use SPF every day It reduces dark spots and irritation—yes, even when it’s cloudy 😣 6. Exfoliate 1–2x a week Choose chemical exfoliants (like BHA) over scrubs to avoid damage. ( dont use if u have lit dry skin that is peeling ) 7. Don’t over-cleanse 2x per day max. Too much washing = more oil + dryness 8. Be consistent Stick with your routine for a few weeks before switching things up cus some routines take time espicially if your skin barrier is really damaged 9. If your sleeping with makeup on I AM TALKING TO YOU 🫵🫵🫵. ITS absolutely wrecking and it will damage/ clog your pores which u dont want. No matter how tired you are Do Not sleep with make up on. Its better sleeping washing your face and putting on nothing than sleeping with makeup on 💄 Tip : look for non- comedogenic primers/ foundations ( if u use them)
