Hey everyone, I need some clarification on DAT and TMS setup before I sign my first carrier
From what I understand, DU teaches that we can create one DAT account and use it for all our carriers using one carrier’s MC/DOT to register it.
But I’m not sure how this works when it comes to the TMS.
My questions are:
Do we also create one TMS account for all our carriers? Or does each carrier need their own TMS account?
If I create a TMS under one carrier’s MC/DOT and they leave, do I lose access to everything inside that account? Same thing with the DAT account?
For those already working with multiple carriers:
  • How do you handle DAT and TMS accounts?
  • Do you use one account for everyone, or one per carrier?
  • What’s the cleanest long-term setup?
