The #1 Rule of Ghostwriting No One Talks
When most people think ghostwriting, they think: “You must be an amazing writer.” But let me let you in on the real secret: 👉🏾 Ghostwriting is 80% listening and 20% writing. Your job isn’t to sound like you. It’s to sound like them. That means: - Picking up on the client’s slang, tone, and rhythm. - Knowing when they’re casual vs. when they’re formal. - Catching the little phrases they always repeat (those are gold!). 💡 Mini Exercise (try this today): 1. Pick a paragraph from your favorite author. 2. Rewrite it in your own voice. 3. Then take something you wrote and rewrite it in their voice. Do this regularly and you’ll build the muscle of voice-shifting. That’s what separates a freelancer who “writes for people” from a ghostwriter who becomes invisible inside the client’s story. What’s the HARDEST part about capturing someone else’s voice for you right now— 👉🏾 Vocabulary? 👉🏾 Tone? 👉🏾 Flow? 👉🏾 Something else? Drop it in the comments so we can break it down together 👇🏾

Mindset Shifts for New Writers (Who Want to Get Paid)
Want to know the biggest difference between writers who stay stuck...and writers who get paid? It’s not talent. It’s mindset. Here are 3 shifts every new ghostwriter needs to make ASAP: 1️⃣ Stop writing for free validation. Start writing for paid transformation. That blog post you spent 6 hours perfecting? Someone would’ve paid you $500 to write that for them. 2️⃣ Your words have value even if your name’s not on the cover. Being behind the scenes doesn’t mean you’re not the reason it works. You are. 3️⃣ You don’t need permission to start charging. You need strategy. Confidence comes from clarity, not waiting until you “feel ready.” Listen, I get it. It’s hard putting a price on something that comes naturally. But the second you realize that your gift helps people sound better, feel heard, and build their brand? You stop doubting. You start charging. And you become The Plug. 💬 Drop GHOST in the comments and I’ll send you the Paid Writer Starter Ebook to help you shift your mindset, build your confidence, and start making money as a ghostwriter—on your terms.

Ethics + Boundaries in Ghostwriting
Let’s talk about something most ghostwriters don’t figure out until it’s too late: Your name might not be on it—but your energy is all over it. That’s why ethics + boundaries matter more than likes or invoices. Here’s what that looks like in the real world: 🚫 You don’t write someone’s story if it conflicts with your values. 🚫 You don’t take on trauma-heavy projects without clear emotional boundaries. 🚫 You don’t let clients “take over” your time, your brain, or your weekends. Ghostwriting should never feel like soul-selling or energy draining. If you’re constantly saying “yes” to the wrong stories or undercharging just to keep a client happy, you’re not building a writing career—you’re building resentment. Boundaries are part of the business model. And ethics? That’s what keeps your reputation solid, even behind the scenes. 💬 Drop GHOST below and I’ll DM you my Paid Writer Starter Ebook, where I break down how to protect your energy, navigate tricky clients, and stay booked without losing your peace.

Finding Your Writing Voice as a Ghostwriter
Most new writers think they have to “find” their writing voice. Like it’s lost in some notebook or buried under writer’s block. But here’s the truth: Your voice isn’t something you find. It’s something you remember. It’s that rhythm in your texts. That sass in your IG captions. That real, raw way you talk when you’re not trying to sound “professional.” As a ghostwriter, your voice still matters. Not because you’ll use it on client work. But because it helps you recognize other people’s voices faster. Want to master voice matching for clients? Start with your own: Try this:🗣 Write a post about something you love, as if you're texting your best friend. Then…🗣 Rewrite it like you’re talking to your pastor or boss. You’ll start to feel the difference in tone, word choice, flow. That’s voice. And as a ghostwriter, being able to flex between tones is the magic that gets you paid. 💬 Drop GHOST in the comments and I’ll send you my Paid Writer Starter Ebook includes voice prompts, tone-matching tips, and a breakdown of how I write for multiple clients at once.
