🌿 Day 3: What “Good” Potting Mix Should Feel Like
Let’s make this practical.
Go grab a handful of dry potting mix.
What does it feel like?
Good container mix should feel:
* Light and airy
* Slightly fluffy
* Not sticky like mud
* Able to break apart easily
* Filled with visible texture (perlite, bark, coco, etc.)
When you squeeze it, it should hold shape briefly, but fall apart easily when disturbed.
That airy structure is intentional. It creates space for:
• Water movement
• Root expansion
• Oxygen flow
Container gardening depends on that fluffiness.
If your soil feels heavy, clumpy, or mud-like when dry, it may not be ideal for pots.
If you want, post a photo of your potting mix in the comments. Let’s see what everyone is working with!
