Cardboard box planters

I just talked with someone about all of her boxes from deliveries, like Amazon. She didn't know what to do with them and felt bad throwing them away. So she decided to decorate or paint them put in a plastic bag and made a planter.

I was thinking maybe the larger boxes like from "Chewy" might be usable as a container garden for my porch. I'd probably need to put the box in a large plastic bag so the rain doesn't destroy it.

Any thoughts?
