Lights for your plants
I got a meter with a setting for light. I bought several grow lights at Lowe’s. Booster, box says full Spectrum 5000k + 600 nm red light. The meter says dark even with lights on. is the meter useless? What type of light should I get? These are suspension lights, maybe too high? Help Please.

Baskets!
I am getting baskets ready to plant for the season! Old Wicker, Random Weave bittersweet, Plastic, and more. I even have a pair of worn out jeans that I am going to plant again! The baskets, I line with an old sheet, The jeans, I cut off the legs and tie them shut. Coffee cans have nail holes. And I drilled holes in old buckets. Saturday, I start planting. The milk crates are lined with old hay. What are you repurposing for containers.

Love repurposing things into planters….as long as it holds soil and has drainage it can be a planter!

@Kathleen Wells thank you…we all garden at our own pace and that is part of what makes it so enjoyable!
What Is The Most Important Thing You Learned In The Last Year?
Every year in the garden, or container garden has at least one new lesson for me. What is your lesson for the year? Mine: Lemon Grass needs more winter light than I can give it at this time. Even though it goes semi-dormant in cool weather, it needs temperatures above 50* F and bright light to survive. I can give it the temperature, but where I am has no natural light in the winter.

I am retired and living in The Villages in Florida. My passion is container gardening. If it can hold soil it can be one of my contaiers!
