I arrived home on Thursday, and the party was already on Saturday.
Usually, I have weeks to prepare, but this time I only had 2 days.
And I was still working on both of them.
The worst moment came when it suddenly started raining, and in my frustration, I took an axe and chopped down a tree.
That motherfucker bothered me for years.
(It was also sick and had to be put down.)
But in the end I had a lot of fun and was in a state of flow for the majority of the time.
Btw, I just finished "Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
Here is an interesting paraphrased passage:
"People must seek out activities that challenge them, offer clear goals, provide immediate feedback, and encourage deep focus. By doing so, they can transform daily life into a series of meaningful, enjoyable experiences, promoting long-term well-being."
This is also my goal for the HoliGamES and each year it is getting better.
For example:
This year I removed the agenda and just went with the flow.
Even though we didn't do everything I planned in the beginning it was more fun and less stressful.
(Especially after chopping down that tree.)
Here are my highlights:
⚔️ Sword Fights
🏐 Volleyball
🤾♂️ Dodgeball
🔥 Bonfire
♟️ Chess
No injuries. No hangovers. Just pure fun and flow.
A big thank you to for supporting me every step of the way, and to for capturing some amazing drone shots! I am already planning the HoliGamES for next year.
It is going to be the weekend of the 23rd of August.
Get ready to have fun time.
