So, everyone in here...tell me what you do. What are you passionate about?
Vestibular Migraine
Hi all. I have been a little quiet lately, as I have been diagnosed with vestibular migraines/Menieres Disease. They are still trying to sort it all out but it has been debilitating. So, after I cried about how my life had another obstacle, I took to the drawing board to learn and help others as well. Soon I will be posting some information about the vestibular system and how issues with it are strongly related to/are also autoimmune disorders. Yay for learning!
GLP's
I'm sure many of you have heard about GLP-1's and how they're all the rage right now. And it's no wonder. Who doesn't want to look their best? However, when taking man-made meds, there is always a risk associated with it. There can be many damaging and serious side-effects to these meds, especially if they are not used correctly. GLP-1 receptor agonists are primarily used for weight loss and diabetes and may create unintended stress on underlying systems rather than correcting root causes. By suppressing appetite and slowing gastric emptying, they can reduce nutrient intake and impair digestion, potentially contributing to micronutrient deficiencies, loss of lean muscle mass, and reduced metabolic resilience. Chronic reliance may also limit natural hunger signaling, weakening gut-to-brain communication over time. Additionally, some individuals experience worsened gut motility, gallbladder issues, or blood sugar instability when the medication is stopped, suggesting the intervention may mask dysfunction (insulin resistance, inflammation, circadian disruption) rather than restore metabolic health. However....there is still a solution! I have been speaking with a Biochemist who has been teaming up with other physicians to put people on the right track to promote the production of your own GLP-1. After all, GLP-1 is a hormone that the body already produces. This gives you the benefit of a GLP-1 drug but also gives your body control over its own regulation so it mimics what your body is naturally supposed to be doing. The body control is what will prevent muscle breakdown that you typically see with the standard GLP-1 meds on the market. Muscles secrete hormones upon contraction that balance other hormones and increase their effectiveness. As you lose muscle, you lose the muscle factories as well. This is why they created GLP-3. With GLP-3, you will stimulate your own production of GLP-1, which can also regulate insulin, cortisol, and immune pathways. This will help to restore metabolic function within your body. This is a much healthier alternative to losing weight.
