How to leverage IT background to scale?

Hey everyone, just joined the group, hope i can learn from everyone here!

I come from more of an IT background, and I’ve been thinking about how I could maybe use that to simplify the processes.

One idea that crossed my mind was setting up a system to automatically track shipment statuses and send updates to customers, just to cut down on all the manual checking and emailing.

Not sure if that’s something that would really matter day-to-day or if there are bigger priorities I’m missing.

Wanted to see if anyone had some ideas for things I could build that will save lots of time and pain down the road. Trying to front load the thinking and automating now before things are scaling up and there won’t be time for this.
