Hey, I listened to what you said and now I've been recognizing patterns. For example when I studied Kylian Mbappe I thought of the same decisions as he did. Thank you so much.

Football IQ Lesson – Positioning
Great players are not always the fastest or strongest. What makes them special is positioning. Positioning means being in the right place at the right time. Many players only focus on the ball. But smart players think about space. Before the ball arrives, ask yourself: • Where is the space? • Where is the defender? • Where should I move to help my teammate? Good positioning helps you: • Receive the ball with more time • Create passing options • Escape pressure • Control the rhythm of the game Watch players like Xavi, Busquets, and Modrić. They are always moving a few steps to create better angles. Sometimes one small movement can change the whole attack. Football IQ is not only about what you do with the ball. It is also about where you stand without the ball. Quiz – Answer Tomorrow Think about these questions: 1️⃣ Why is positioning important before receiving the ball? 2️⃣ What is the difference between positioning and off-ball movement? 3️⃣ When your teammate has the ball, where should you move to help him? 4️⃣ Which professional player do you think has the best positioning? Why? Tomorrow we will review the answers and discuss them together. Football IQ – Smart Players ⚽🧠
Football IQ Quiz – Positioning (Answers & Discussion)
Great job everyone. I really liked reading your answers and seeing how you are thinking about the game. This is exactly how players improve their Football IQ. Let’s review the questions together. 1️⃣ Why is positioning important before receiving the ball? Positioning is important because it gives you time and options. If you are standing in the right space before the ball arrives, you can receive the ball with less pressure, see the field better, and make faster decisions. Smart players prepare before the ball arrives, not after. 2️⃣ What is the difference between positioning and off-ball movement? Positioning is where you stand on the field to create the best space or passing angle. Off-ball movement is how you move to find that space. For example, a midfielder takes a few steps to the side to open a passing lane. The movement is off-ball movement, and the place he ends up is good positioning. 3️⃣ When your teammate has the ball, where should you move to help him? You should move to a place where you create an option for him. This usually means: • moving into open space • moving away from defenders • creating a passing angle • supporting from behind if he is under pressure Smart players are always thinking: “Where can I move to help my teammate?” 4️⃣ Which professional player has great positioning? Many players are famous for their positioning: • Xavi – always finds space and controls the rhythm of the game • Busquets – incredible positioning to escape pressure • Modrić – constantly moving to create passing angles • Thomas Müller – famous for finding space in dangerous areas These players are not always the fastest, but their Football IQ and positioning make them world class. Final thought Football IQ is not only about what you do with the ball. The real intelligence in football is what you do without the ball. Keep learning and keep studying the game. 🧠 What This Picture Is Teaching (Smart Positioning)
🧠 What This Picture Is Teaching (Smart Positioning) This diagram shows how a smart player positions himself to gain time, space, and better options. 🔴 Red circles = Defenders ⚪ White circles = Teammates (your team) 🎯 Key Ideas in the Picture 1️⃣ Intelligent Positioning (Center player) The highlighted white player is not standing randomly. He is: Slightly away from defenders Positioned to see multiple options Ready to receive on the half-turn 👉 Smart players move before the pass, not after. 2️⃣ Scanning → Time & Angle (Right side) The arrows show that when the player scans early: He knows where space is He receives the ball at the correct angle He can play forward, not sideways or backward 👉 Position + scan = more time on the ball. 3️⃣ Tactical Triangles (Bottom right) The triangle shows support angles: One option short One option wide One option forward 👉 Good positioning always creates at least 2 passing options. If you have only 1 option → you are easy to press. 4️⃣ Space Is Created, Not Found The diagram shows space opening because of movement, not luck. Smart players: Move between lines Adjust 2–3 steps Stay visible to the ball carrier 🧠 Simple Rule From This Picture Don’t stand where the ball is. Stand where the next action will be.

Decision making positioning
Today I had practice but my decision making was floppy and positioning how fast can I get good at this effectively so next season I can move up? I watch film so I’m just going to trust the process and God but I need better positioning+ decision making because that’s what’s holding me back and how long will it take for me to get pretty good at it
