Keep it simple [5min Checklist]
I wanted to give you a handful of tactical learnings I got from one of my mentors after he had tens of thousands of people succeed with communities. The following actions below are statistically proven to increase your chances of winning (we have the data). So this isn’t motivational fluff. Just follow his process (5 min MAX). 1) Don't lurk--->LIKE! Engagement is the first and easiest thing you can do. Making liking posts/comments you like a habit. It also tells the platform how to better serve you. Find a post (or posts) you find valuable - and let the person who wrote it know. It's a free gift you can give to someone else. Everyone here knows it's nice to be appreciated. And it literally takes a tap or a click. (And yes, statistically, people who like stuff succeed on Skool more). 2) Complete your profile & onboarding steps in your community. Make it your own. It’s much cooler once you’ve added your “decor.” And if you don’t know what it’ll be about - that’s fine - I find it’s most commonly: A) a passion (anything you’re interested in) B) pain (some experience you overcame or problem you solved for yourself that you show other people how to) C) Or a profession (something you already get paid to do as an employee but you either sho other people how to do that profession or you do it on the side now for more businesses). Of course, there are many other variations, but that’s a good place to start. And don’t take it too seriously - you can always change your mind! 3) Text/DM 20 people (goal is to get 3 People in - and ideally - get to 10 regulars - this is where things really get fun): “I’m starting a community about XYZ (or that helps people get GOOD without BAD), do you know anybody’s who’s into that?” 4) You can also post to whatever profiles you’ve got on social media that you’re starting a community to help people XYZ. Pro tip: The biggest and most successful groups put their link in bio/video descriptions. Seems to work great. 5) Groups can either be free or paid (or freemium). But I think it’s important to see how getting paid actually works. So I’d recommend putting $1 or whatever through the system. I think once you see how easy it is - and how to works - you’ll be excited to get a stranger to go thru the process too. You can just put up a $1 course which just has a link to your calendar and no videos just to see how it works in a free community - or - you can make your group paid day 1. (Unless you’ve already got traffic I recommend starting free or free + course/service upsells inside). Much easier if you’re new.

I've Walked In Your Shoes...or Flip Flops
Many times, we look at or become a part of a group or community that seems not to understand us. We hope for some sort of guidance because that person or persons have been in our shoes and will understand exactly how we feel. Maybe at some point they understood us and what we are going through. Well, I can tell you for certain, I understand and have been you. Over 26 years ago, I decided I had had enough of corporate life and I wanted to raise my kids my way. I wanted to be there for them as much as I could as they grew up. It was an uphill battle because no one knew or could understand what I was doing. I created the path I was walking on. I had a love for graphic design and knew I could create a business and reach so many more people. So, I did. I became a digital beach bum! Now, there are so many ways you can create your freedom online but Pat and I believe this one will be the most fun! You get to create a membership/tribe/community around your passion. It's so much easier to be a part of a community that understands what you do, what you stand for, and wants to learn from you. This is why we created OUR tribe. We are beach-loving, flip-flop-wearing, digital beach bums wanting to help guide others in the vast sea of the internet. 26+ years of trial and error that we plan to share. Let's go!

This is how to change your thinking to "Tribe Think"
We all get "imposter syndrome". Even after we do awesome things. We think we need to know more, be more important, start later, have more money, "once I get to [fill in the blank]"... We are all too worried about what people think. *hint... they aren't thinking about us at all! Change your thinking (I call it stinkin' thinkin') from "What if they don't like it" to "Some people will love it and those are my people"!

Ride The Wave! 🌊
We want you to share your wins in family life too and here is one of ours! Pat and I were asked by a friend to join him on his wake boat LAST MINUTE. At like 4pm, we dropped what we were doing and headed to the water! You never need to ask us twice to go out on a boat! See, we can do this because we have built online marketing to allow us to stop and go! A few of the kids joined us and we actually wake surfed!!! 🏄‍♀️ This is a huge win for us because we are over 55! We aren't afraid to try things that so many people half our age won't begin to try. Have you ever done this before? If so, let me know in the comments!

Feeling Lost? Good. You’re Right Where You’re Supposed to Be.
Let’s get real for a second. If you’re new here, there’s a good chance you feel a little confused. Maybe even a little intimidated. You might be wondering: “Can I really do this?” “What if I screw it up?” “What if I’m too old / too late / too far behind?” We hear you. We all felt the same way. Here’s the truth 👉 Confusion is normal. Doubt is normal. Feeling a little overwhelmed? Also normal. You’re starting something new. Something different. Something that frees you — not buries you deeper in the grind. So if you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing yet? Perfect. You’re right on time. And let me ask you this: Why not you? Why not be the one who finally builds income online? Why not be the one who takes back their time, their energy, and their freedom? This tribe isn’t full of experts. It’s full of people who were done settling — and ready to start. You’re not too late. You’re just getting started. And we’ve got your back every step of the way. Let’s flip flop your life.
