Training Principles
Knowledge is important. Action is what creates results. This section is designed to help you build a simple, sustainable approach to training after 40. You won't find complicated workout splits or endless exercise variations here. Instead, you'll learn the principles that matter most: - Build strength consistently. - Prioritize recovery. - Progress gradually. - Train with purpose. - Stay capable for life. Remember: The goal isn't to have the hardest workout. The goal is to become the strongest version of yourself for the life you want to keep living. Simple beats complicated. Consistency beats perfection. Lay one brick at a time.

Understanding Your Body After 40
The purpose of this section isn't to overwhelm you with science. It's to help you understand why your body may be responding differently than it did years ago. Many adults over 40 blame themselves when results slow down. In reality, hormones, recovery, stress, sleep, muscle mass, and metabolism all begin to play a larger role. The more you understand what's happening, the more confident you'll become in making decisions that actually work. Knowledge alone won't change your life. But understanding removes frustration—and that allows you to build with confidence. Read these lessons at your own pace. You don't need to memorize them. Just remember this: Your body isn't working against you. It simply requires a different blueprint than it did 20 years ago.

Welcome to Fit Club 50 👊
If you’re here, you're in the right place. This community was built for adults over 40 who are tired of chasing quick fixes and ready to build lasting strength, health, and confidence. Fit Club 50 isn't about chasing perfection. It's about helping adults over 40 become stronger, healthier, and more capable so they can keep doing the things that matter most for years to come. How to use this group Keep it simple: 1. Start with the guides below. They’ll give you a clear, no-fluff starting point. 2. Don’t try to do everything at once, pick 1–2 things you can actually stick to this week. Using the analogy of a homebuilder, I'll say lay your first brick; build the foundation. 3. Check in and ask questions. If something doesn’t make sense or you’re stuck, post it. What to expect here: - simple, structured guidance. - conversations around what actually works after 40. - a focus on consistency, not extremes. No hype. No shortcuts. No guessing. Just a better way to approach this. Where to go from here: 1.Check out the Guides and Resources section for helpful info 2. Then head over to the Community/Check-ins section and introduce yourself! Feel free to say hello and share any struggles or issues you're currently facing. NOTE:Before you explore the community, remember this: you don't have to change everything this week. Your only job is to lay your first "brick." Remember the anlogy of a homebuilder and laying the bricks, I'll be referencing that quite a bit. You're not here to start over. You're here to start building. One brick at a time. Welcome to Fit Club 50. – Brian

Why Small Wins Compound
When people start a health journey, they often look for dramatic changes. Lose twenty pounds. Run a marathon. Transform everything overnight. Real life doesn't usually work that way. Lasting change is built one small decision at a time. One workout. One healthy meal. One extra walk. One good night's sleep. On their own, those choices may not seem like much. But repeated consistently, they begin to add up. Think of it like compound interest. Small deposits made consistently create remarkable results over time. Healthy habits work the same way. Don't underestimate the value of today's small win. It might be the brick that supports everything you build tomorrow. Focus on the next right choice. Then repeat it. – Brian

Motivation vs. Commitment
People often tell me, "I just need more motivation." I don't think that's true. Motivation comes and goes. Some days you'll feel excited to train. Other days you won't. That's normal. If you rely on motivation, your habits will come and go with it. Commitment is different. Commitment is choosing to show up even when you don't feel like it. Not because every workout is exciting. But because you've decided your health is worth investing in. You don't have to be perfect. You just have to keep showing up. Motivation may get you started. Commitment keeps you going. And over time, that's what creates lasting change. – Brian
