Handling over texting
How do you all handle someone who over texts too much too soon? I spoke with a gentleman I met online a couple of days ago. We had a nice normal first conversation online and exchanged numbers. He calls me without asking that first night if I am free. I don't answer because I am about to go to bed around 9pm and I texted him to tell him that and he was fine with it. He starts texting me the next morning. Can you talk??? Around 8am. I am about to start working, but agree to speak because he asked the night before and I had declined because I was headed to sleep around 9pm. Then he texts me each day around lunch noon or so and again around dinner time 5pm or later. Can you talk? How are you? Are you busy? Its driving me a little crazy. Today I had a terrible migraine and took off work. I didnt feel well and I told him I wasnt feeling well when he asked how I was this morning. And then 2 hours later he says he is also a physical therapist and can help me. Hmmmm. He was also a mechanic and a barber when we spoke on the phone. Is this normal? I did politely tell him I was overwhelmed by the texting and hoped he understood the reason I was responding was I didn't feel well. He said he did. I am still thinking about stopping communication with him. I did not want to ghost him, but I feel my explanation that I am overwhelmed by the constant texting should be sufficient after one call and a few days of texting and never meeting in person. I think his behavior may be a sign of something potentially more controlling in the future.
