Repeat or Fulfill
If someone told our church handyman, “Take this brush and gallon of paint, go outside and paint the pastor’s name on the church sign”, and he went outside and wrote “The pastors name” on the sign, he might get fired!
They don’t mean for him to repeat their instructions, they intend for him to fulfill their instructions.
They meant for him to write “Calvin Hall” on the church sign.
Matthew 28:19 are the instructions. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
In water baptism, the apostles didn’t repeat Jesus’ instructions, they fulfilled His instructions.
In every example in the Book of Acts they properly fulfilled the instructions to ”baptize in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” by evoking the name of Jesus in baptism.
Don’t repeat the instructions - fulfill the instructions!!
