Thinking about registering as an Individual Entrepreneur (IE) or opening a company in Georgia for residency? Read this first.
Georgia is popular because it's one of the easiest places to establish a business and qualify for residency and get 1% tax.
However, there's an important privacy issue that many people don't realize:
Your passport scan will be publicly accessible through the Georgian company registry.
it takes less than a minute to find:
- Search for the registered business or IE.
- Download the available .djvu document.
- Open it with a compatible viewer.
- The last page often contains a scan of the owner's passport.
This means that, anyone can access the passport scans of registered individual entrepreneurs and company owners in Georgia.
If privacy is a priority for you, think again before choosing Georgia as your business or residency jurisdiction.
