Welcome to The Exotic Pet Education Platform
Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Olivia or Liv, an avian and exotics veterinarian and educator, and I created this space not just because of my passion for birds and exotic pets but because birds and exotic pets are too often overlooked, misunderstood and I know just how hard it can be to find reliable, trustworthy information on caring for them. This community is for pet parents of birds and exotic pets, as well as veterinary professionals, vet students, vet nurses, vet techs and anyone who works with or care about these incredible non-traditional animals. My goal is simple: to make high-quality, practical, evidence-based exotics education accessible and fun! I want you to feel empowered and to love learning from me. Whether you’re caring for a rabbit at home, nursing a bird in hospital, or building confidence with birds and exotics in practice. ✨ Inside this community you’ll find: - Free husbandry guides - Courses, e-books, and webinars (with more coming soon) - Ongoing education and discussion - A safe space to ask questions and learn I am only just getting started and have so many exciting resources that I am working on that I will be launching in the coming months! But for now this platform is still growing, and as an early member, you’ll help shape what’s created next! 👇 To get started, please introduce yourself: - What species do you care for or work with? - Are you a pet parent, vet, vet nurse, vet, student, or other animal professional? - What would you most love to learn about? Thanks for being here. I’m so excited to learn and build this community with you. Liv ❤️ 🐇🐁🐍🦎🐀🐢🦜

How to navigate the classroom
Hi everyone! Since launching I have been observing and taking on feedback and I understand that the structure has been a little confusing so I have been working hard on giving the classroom a much needed ✨glow up✨ and making this platform much more user friendly and easier to navigate. There are two clearly defined spaces: - 🩺 Vet Professional Hub - 🐾 Pet Parent Hub The resources for each group are also clearly labelled as either VET or PET so you can quickly find the right category and content that’s most relevant to you. There are also resources (purple thumbnail) without a VET or PET label that are useful for everyone, whether you are in vet med or a pet parent. 🎥 Start here: I’ve created a quick “How to Navigate the Platform” video below to walk you through exactly where everything lives and how to make the most of it 👇 ✅ What I recommend you do next: - Watch the navigation video - Explore your relevant hub - Jump into a lesson or resource that interests you - Introduce yourself (if you haven’t already!) I built this platform to support everybody who cares about birds and exotics. Whether you’re a vet professional looking to deepen your exotic knowledge, or a pet parent wanting to give your animal the best possible care 💚 As always, I’d love your feedback to keep this space evolving with you . Let me know if you need help finding anything or if you ever need guidance on choosing the right resources for you. Liv

How to navigate the classroom
Looking for a vet to interview!
I hate to do this but I am a vet student and for one of my classes I have to interview a vet that is working in the field that I am interested in.. only catch is that I can't know them personally and that rules out all the vets that I know! Would anyone be willing to hop on a video chat so I can ask a few questions? Sometime before June 6th? I know you are all very busy, but I would be very appreciative! Thank you!
