Have you been to ....?
☕Hello everyone! 👋 I've just got back from a long weekend in London. It was fantastic catching up with family and friends 😍 So today's grammar tip is about asking which countries or places you've been to... 👉 For this, we use the present perfect tense because we're talking about life experience (the past in general), not a specific time. 👉 Structure:Have/has + past participle ✅ Examples: - I’ve been to Spain - She’s visited Paris - We’ve traveled around Italy ❓ Questions: - Have you been to London? - Which countries have you visited? ❌ Negative: - I haven’t been to Germany - He hasn’t visited Rome 💡 Tip:We often use words like: - ever (in questions) → Have you ever been to Italy? - never → I’ve never been to Japan 💬 Your turn: 1. Write 2–3 sentences about places you’ve been to 2. Ask ONE question to another member (e.g. “Have you ever been to…?”) Extra group challenge: Let’s see where everyone has travelled to and who is the most widely travelled person in the Cafe! 🌍 I'll get the ball rolling 🥎: I've been to most European countries apart from the Baltic countries and Balkan countries. I've also travelled to a few countries in South America (Mexico, Peru, Chile and Brasil) and Asia (Thailand, India, Japan and Bali) but I've never been to mainland Africa or a Middle Eastern country or place (unless you count Qatar airport on the way to Thailand!) What about you?

Grammar Tip of the Week - present continuous for future plans
Did you know you can use the present continuous to talk about the future? 👀 We often use it for plans that are already decided. 👉 Structure: Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing ✅ Examples: - I’m meeting a friend tomorrow - She’s traveling to Italy next week - We’re having dinner at 7 tonight ❌ Negative: - I’m not working this weekend - He isn’t coming to the party ❓ Questions: - Are you meeting anyone tomorrow? - What are you doing this weekend? 💡 We usually include a future time expression: - tomorrow - tonight - this weekend - next week ⚠️ Important:This is for planned things, not random decisions. ❌ “I’m maybe going to watch TV later”✅ “I’m watching TV tonight” (you already decided) 💬 Now it's your turn:Write 2–3 sentences about your future plans using this structure! I've just decided - I'm going to bed now ;)

Grammar Tip of the Week - present continuous for future plans
💬 English Tip: “I’m interested in…” vs “It’s interesting”
Many learners mix these up 👇 ✅ I’m interested in… = how you feel→ I’m interested in psychology.→ I’m interested in learning Spanish. ✅ It’s interesting = describing a thing→ This book is interesting.→ That idea is interesting. Think of it like this: 👤 Person = interested 📚 Thing = interesting Now it’s your turn 👇 Write: 1️⃣ One sentence with “I’m interested in…” 2️⃣ One sentence with “interesting” I’ll check them for you!
Grammar Tip of the Week: present perfect
Many learners say this wrong 👇 ❌ I am here since 2 years ✅ I have been here for 2 years ✅ I have been working here since 2023 Because we use present perfect with “since/for” when something started in the past and is still true in the present moment. Think of it as a bridge between the present and the past. Try writing a sentence with "for". Then rewrite it with "since"
