Grammar Tip of the Week - present continuous for future plans
Did you know you can use the present continuous to talk about the future? 👀
We often use it for plans that are already decided.
👉 Structure: Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing
✅ Examples:
  • I’m meeting a friend tomorrow
  • She’s traveling to Italy next week
  • We’re having dinner at 7 tonight
❌ Negative:
  • I’m not working this weekend
  • He isn’t coming to the party
❓ Questions:
  • Are you meeting anyone tomorrow?
  • What are you doing this weekend?
💡 We usually include a future time expression:
  • tomorrow
  • tonight
  • this weekend
  • next week
⚠️ Important:This is for planned things, not random decisions.
❌ “I’m maybe going to watch TV later”✅ “I’m watching TV tonight” (you already decided)
💬 Now it's your turn:Write 2–3 sentences about your future plans using this structure!
I've just decided - I'm going to bed now ;)
