Freaking happy Friday! 🥳
I'm writing this from my hometown Munich, where I've been locked in a hotel room since Wednesday to fully focus on work.
I want to share something with you—and probably only parents, especially moms, will fully understand what I'm about to say 😆
Don't get me wrong: I love being a mom. I love my son, I love my husband, and I love our family life in the suburbs.
But sometimes I feel like I can't hold the pressure anymore that lies on my shoulders. Managing everything. Planning meals. Cleaning the house. Driving our son to eyeball appointments and playdates.
My husband is the most supportive guy on earth, but he has a full-time job, and I do the rest. That's our family setup.
So once or twice a year, I go on a "workation." I got this concept from my friend Laura (meeting her in a few hours for cocktails!). She locked herself in this same hotel to work because she has two kids and needed to get things done.
And that's exactly what I've been doing for the past two and a half days.
This morning I realized: the only responsibility I've had is taking care of myself. Ordering food. Ordering drinks. Working. That's it.
That's significantly less responsibility compared to what I normally carry. And I've been productive as hell.
I didn't just finish a complete classroom for the Email School.
I also re-did the entire classroom for Writing With Julia (launching this weekend at a founding member's price!).
I recorded 4 new YouTube videos.
And I still have one more day to go before I drive home Sunday.
I hope your week was as productive as mine. And if it wasn't?
Please don't be too hard on yourself.
I'm guessing the reason you're not doing the things you think you should be doing is simply because you have a life next to your business ❤️
