Right now, social media feels like a distraction in my business.
Everyone is talking AT each other, not TO each other. It’s too much, too quickly for my neurodiverse brain and any ‘connections’ on there feel shallow. I’m getting the same feeling on there I get when I pick my kids up from school, with the cliques, the surface level talk which I’m crap at, and the performativeness.
At the moment I’m just sharing clips of my YouTube content and when I’ve posted on Substack to Instagram/Facebook as a low-level mainly automated background presence. The reels do ok in terms of views but of course, they don’t lead to anything. It’s not a place I enjoy being and I spent too many years thinking I need to push through and do it. I'd say I'm in the 'long slow goodbye' phase 😆
