I’m going to be uploading 4 different scanning training files into the community for all players to use at home.
These are resources that I personally paid for and used over the years as a player and now continue to use as a coach with developing players. I wanted everyone in this community to have access to the same type of training tools that help build real game habits.
One of the biggest habits high-level players develop is scanning.
Players cannot improve scanning if they never train themselves to take their eyes off the ball. These videos are designed to force players to quickly gather information while still controlling and passing the ball.
Each file will include different visual or audio patterns:
• Colors
• Numbers
• Letters
• Audio cues
• Different transition patterns
HOW TO USE THEM:
- Put the video on a laptop, iPad, or larger screen.
2. Elevate the screen to about head or shoulder height using a tripod, chair, table, etc.
3. Position the screen at different angles:
• Left side
• Directly behind
• Right side
4. Pass the ball against a wall continuously.
5. As soon as you pass the ball, quickly scan the screen before receiving the next touch.
The goal is to build the habit of checking your surroundings quickly while still staying focused on the ball and your next action.
Get creative with it. Change the angles. Change the speed. Challenge yourself.
These are small habits that separate average players from intelligent players on the field.
Take advantage of the resource. It’s completely free for everyone in the community.
If you enjoyed this amazing resource & found it useful at home, PLEASE take a video of yourself practicing with it at home & upload it to the community!
It always makes me happy to see you all working hard from home & inspiring the rest of the community here at ESA24 to keep on working hard daily.
