What Are Your Biggest Coaching Bottlenecks?
Hey everyone, In our self-paced modules we talk about, for example, the science of coaching; from building constraints-led games to managing cognitive load and designing effective sessions. But I also know that taking those pedagogical frameworks from paper to a wet, chaotic Tuesday night training pitch is where the real test happens. As we build out more resources for the Elevate community, I want to make sure we are tackling the exact hurdles you are facing right now on the ground right now. I’m opening the floor. What is the number one thing you are finding challenging in your coaching at the moment? Is it; • Practice Design: Designing sessions that actually teach the skill without creating confusion? • Player Buy-in: Getting your squad on board when, for example, shifting away from traditional, static blocked practice? • Differentiation: Managing drastically different skill levels or rugby IQs within the same session? • Something else entirely? Drop your biggest current roadblock in the comments below. Be as specific as you can. I'll be jumping in to brainstorm solutions and tweaks with you, and your answers will directly shape the upcoming masterclasses and resources we build next! 👇

NEW Freebie: Performing Under Pressure
New freebie for the community 🙌 Grab yours in the Classroom! I’ve just uploaded a new resource: Performing Under Pressure – The Red to Blue Model. This freebie is designed to help coaches guide players through pressure moments by teaching them how to recognise when they’re in a reactive “Red” state and how to reset back to a calmer, clearer “Blue” state. To be able to do this as a coach, we have to try and experience this ourselves first too. In this module, you’ll find: - a ready-to-use micro-lesson - practical reflection and discussion prompts - scenario-based activities - a printable worksheet (message me for the editable version) It’s a simple, practical tool you can use to develop self-regulation, self-awareness, decision-making, and emotional control in training and competition. Grab it, try it with your players, and let me know how you use it in your sessions 👇

Session Design Essentials Part 3
Good coaching isn’t just intensity. It’s knowing when to support, challenge, or progress a player. This week’s essentials: ✔️ Create engagement through competition. ✔️ Differentiate based on skill level. ✔️ Use feed up, feedback, and feed forward to engage, encourage and develop. Meet players where they are, and push them toward the next level. Challenge players without overwhelming them. That’s where growth happens. 📌 Save this for your next session 🔁 Share with another coach 💬 What’s one way you adapt sessions for different ability levels?

Session Design Essentials Part 2
An effective session isn’t about filling time with drills! It’s about creating learning that actually transfers to the game. Part 2 of our essentials series: ✔️ Use meaningful input ✔️ Scaffold skills progressively ✔️ Create game-based learning situations Players improve faster when they: → understand the purpose → see the skill in context → apply it under pressure Simple → pressure → game. Ease your players into their optimal development zone. 📌 Save this for your next session 🔁 Share with another coach 💬 Which one do you use most in your sessions?
