Match Review Made Simple
What do you ask your players to do with match footage? This is me preparing our Spakenburg post-match review in CoachCraft: adding clips, connecting them to our training goals and including questions to guide reflection. The questions give players something specific to look for and give us a starting point for discussion at training. For me, this is an important part of helping players take ownership. I want them to explain what they see and consider what they could do differently. CoachCraft brings those clips and questions together, with options to assign them to the squad, groups or individuals. How do you get your players actively involved in the review process?

How much of your coaching week is actually spent coaching?
I think this is an interesting question because most of the admin around a team does not feel particularly big. Check availability. Update the calendar. Find an old session. Message someone who has not responded. Confirm a fixture. Work out what needs doing next. Ten minutes here. Fifteen minutes there. Then suddenly a big part of the week has gone. The issue for me is not simply the time.It is what that admin takes away from. Good coaching depends on being present enough to notice things. Who looks low on confidence? Who is not understanding the activity? Who needs a conversation? What is beginning to change in the group? That is part of the thinking behind CoachCraft. The calendar, generated sessions, availability and team management tools are not there just to organise information. They are there to reduce the amount of attention coaches spend managing the system around the team. The system should carry the admin so the coach can carry the coaching.
