🪵🌱 New hyper-fixation unlocked: handcrafted wooden cutting boards. 😂
My dad, a master woodworker, is teaching me how to make real hardwood cutting boards!
They are so beautiful!
This first build is a mix of:
🤎 Walnut
🍁 Maple
❤️ Cherry
And besides looking ridiculously pretty sitting on your counter, real wood cutting boards are actually kind of awesome:
✔️ Naturally antimicrobial✔️ Gentler on knife edges✔️ Non-toxic compared to a lot of plastic boards✔️ Long-lasting if cared for properly✔️ Every single one ends up unique because wood has its own personality (same honestly)
The wild part? Studies have shown hardwood boards can actually trap and neutralize bacteria better than plastic boards that get covered in tiny cut grooves over time. Nature knew what it was doing before we started making everything out of petroleum products apparently. 😅
We’re experimenting with different wood combinations, patterns, sizes, and styles right now with hopes of bringing some to Pickle Fest 🥒
