Welcome To Directors Cut:The business of video (Free) [START HERE]
The freelance model broke. Most of us just haven't admitted it yet.
Agencies merging. Budgets tighter every year. More talented people chasing fewer gigs. Not great. But here's the thing. Demand for video has never been higher. Brands. Businesses. They need video. All kinds of video. They just don't want to hire a production team. Don't want to manage freelancers. They want someone who can handle it. Start to finish. Deliver a result. That's the shift. From "I'm an editor" or "I'm a DP" to "I deliver finished video that grows your business." Scary? Maybe. But most of us started this way. Doing everything. Figuring it out. You already have what you need. This Thursday 's meet up is on how I made this shift, and what you need to do right now to start wining this business. Thursday, 10am PT. 👉 Someone Actually Sent It Live
That was a really good 15-Minute Pipeline Fix this week. Great group. People showed up ready to actually do the work… and we got into it. Picked real contacts. Wrote real messages. And yeah… one person actually sent it live. Once you do it once, the whole thing feels different. You realize it’s not this big scary thing you’ve been avoiding… it’s just a system you haven’t been using yet. Next week we’re going a step further. We’re going to build something people can actually buy. Not “I do video.”Not a list of services. A real offer. Packaged. Clear. Easy to say yes to. We’ll walk through the framework together, and by the end of the session you’ll have something you can actually put out into the world. Like… post-it-on-social that day - kind of real . Last week moved fast. This one will too. If you missed it, you felt it. Don’t miss this one.

From the Founder Sprint workbook
Working through the Founder Sprint workbook with someone this week and they said something that made me laugh. “I feel like I know all this already… I’ve just never actually done it.” That’s the real gap for most people. Not knowledge. Implementation. That’s the entire reason the Sprint exists as a working session instead of just a course. What’s something you’ve known you should fix for a long time but still haven’t?
Big Community Update
Hey everyone, After a lot of feedback and a few requests to open things up, I’m making a change. I’m opening up the Thursday 10am PT session to the entire community. The thinking here is simple. The best moments in these calls come from different perspectives. More voices, more experience levels, more real-world situations. I also want to consolidate the energy into one strong room instead of splitting things across tiers. One place where the real conversations happen. I'll be including a link to the meeting in our newsletter. Alongside that, I’ve made a shift to how the community is structured. The community is still free. That doesn’t change. But instead of locking courses behind VIP or Premium tiers, everything is now available to members at any level at a low cost. You can access what you need, when you need it, without committing to a monthly fee Overall, this just feels cleaner, more open, and more aligned with how people actually want to learn and grow. I’m excited to see what this becomes as more people jump into the mix. If you want more details or have questions, just DM me. Jonathan
