One of the biggest mistakes many creators make is spending hours creating a beautiful design before finding out if there's actually a market for it. I am guilty of this. I chase shiny objects.
Before you start your next project, take 10–15 minutes to do a little research.
Here are a few FREE places to start:
🔍 Etsy Search – Type in your idea and look at the autocomplete suggestions. Those are real searches shoppers are making.
📌 Pinterest – See what's trending, what styles are popular, and what catches your eye.
📈 Google Trends – Compare search interest over time to see if a topic is growing, seasonal, or declining.
🎥 TikTok & Instagram Reels – Search your niche to see what's getting attention and inspiring creators.
💡 ChatGPT – Ask questions like:
- What products could I create with this idea?
- Who is my target audience?
- What are some unique angles or sub-niches?
- What keywords should I target?
Research doesn't mean copying someone else's work—it means understanding what people are looking for and finding ways to create something that's uniquely yours.
