Ciao!
Hello all! My name is Elena and I’m a multimedia storyteller—a novelist, journalist, photographer, recipe developer, and documentary producer. The stories I write focus on farming, food & drinks, climate, culture, and travel, exploring the connection between people and place. My work has appeared in publications including AFAR, Atlas Obscura, Civil Eats, Culture, Eater, Forbes, Full Pour, Imbibe, Italy Segreta, Life & Thyme, and Modern Farmer. I’m currently based in Portland, Oregon, but I live part-time in Italy, where I was been based for the past decade.
How do you structure your pitch emails to magazines?
Hi everyone, I’m relatively new to freelancing as a journalist and currently trying to get a better sense of how others approach pitching magazines. I’ve written and published pieces before through my own publication, but moving into pitching editors directly feels like a different discipline altogether. I’m curious how you personally structure your pitch emails. I’m especially interested in what has actually worked for you. Would really appreciate hearing how you approach this and what you wish you’d known when you started. Thanks in advance. 👀

What is a Travel Journalist?
Hi everyone, I'm Priyangana.
I work in editorial at The World Times, focusing on culture, news, and digital media. My work is largely opinion-led, shaped by a deep interest in contemporary cultural conversations and the stories that sit just beneath the headlines. Alongside writing, I’m also involved in editorial coordination and newsroom operations, including managing orientations and press communication. Outside of work, I have a particular interest in reading and writing psychological fiction, and I’ve had the opportunity to publish a few works in the genre as well. I’m here to learn, exchange ideas, and connect with people doing interesting work. Looking forward to being part of the community!
