Welcome to Digital Kemet!
What did the ancient Egyptians, the people of Kemet, actually believe? Not what modern spirituality says they believed. Not what Hollywood imagines. Not what social media reduces to memes. What evidence did the Egyptians themselves leave behind? That question is at the heart of Digital Kemet. This is a community for exploring ancient Kemetic civilization through its religion, sacred practices, history, medicine, astronomy, writing, craftsmanship, philosophy, and worldview. We will examine the Netjeru, Ma’at and Isfet, temple ritual, prayer, offerings, festivals, death and regeneration, divine relationships, sacred symbols, and the ancient Egyptian understanding of the connections between the visible and invisible worlds. And we will distinguish between what the evidence tells us, what scholars interpret, and what we choose to practice today. Those are not always the same thing. Ancient Egyptians left us thousands of years of texts, monuments, objects, images, rituals, and philosophies. There is far more to discover than pyramids, pharaohs, popular mythology, and Cleopatra. So let’s begin with you. What first drew you to ancient Egypt? And what is the one thing about Kemet (Egypt) you most curious about? 𓋹 Ankh. Wedja. Seneb. Life. Prosperity. Health. Welcome to Digital Kemet.
