Ps 71:6
Good morning, this week, my husband and I are visiting my mom. She lives far away- a 10-hour drive. And there is much to do here to help her when we are here. It’s a busy week, and I love it, and love seeing her.
This morning
I’m in the front porch
The air is soft - it is not yet hot but will be -
The dogs playing nearby.
A yellow bellied chat singing in a nearby tree -
I hear it and have been looking
But it stays well hidden.
But oh! It’s repertoire is amazing !
What a joy to listen to its many songs while reading my Bible in the morning light.
Today, I’ve been brought to Ps 71. Verse 6 says:
“From birth I have relied on you;
You brought me forth from my mother’s womb.
I will ever praise you.” (NIV)
Isn’t this a beautiful line?
How often have we felt God in the room at the time of birth?
A sacred shifting.
An exhausted mother.
And then - a shift
A moment
A deliverance
Of newborn through mother
Into her waiting arms.
She did it! We exclaim.
I did it! She exclaims.
Thank you Lord, we say in our hearts, because we know full well that he in fact brought this baby forth - however that looks -
From the mother’s womb.
Amazing!
Every time!
How would live to hear your thoughts on this Psalm.
With live, today, from a very pretty morning in Idaho,
m.
