"Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, None but ourselves can free our minds" - Bob Marley When you read this quote, what thought pops up in your mind? Well for me, I reflect on how challenging our past domestication can effect us without us even being aware of it. Such as growing up around toxic family that may have told you terrible things like, "You ain't gonna be sh*t, just like your mama/daddy" or "You're so ugly, nobody will ever want you!" Just hateful words, even when they think they are joking or being funny. Those toxic metaphors can infect and influence a child's mind. But that can cause someone to believe those things as an adult if they don't realize that it is, indeed mental slavery. Which we must be released/emancipated from. What are your thoughts?
