A Day in the Life take 2
Early this morning I created a post about what I did yesterday and how days typically go living a tax deductible life...well the post disappeared. IDK what happened to it, so I'm trying again. Yesterday afternoon Steve and I went in to Sturgis. I hadn't had a chance to wander around yet so we drove down to Main Street and roamed in and out of all the shops. There were some really cool pieces, a lot of leftover from 2025 and before Sturgis Rally items, a few restaurants, a few bars, a couple tattoo shops and a couple leather shops. I definitely found a few pair of boots that told me I should get back to work and Steve wants a couple of the Dixxon flannels (they have some designs only available in Sturgis). I definitely saw some items worth putting on eBay if I was so inclined (I'm not). I realized about half way through the walk that I should have taken video, I even had the GoPro in the Jeep. We wandered through a small antique store which was cool. They had a ton of antler sheds and what looked like a real stuffed mountain lion. I said something to Steve about bringing it back for the dogs but I really didn't want to clean up any mess-whether it be the stuffed mountain lion or the dogs being scared of it and 💩. Steve needed to take his allergy meds, so we went into Gas Monkey Bar & Grill Sturgis. Had a great vibe. We were there early for a Friday, so not a bunch of people yet. They have outdoor seating and great big garage time doors that were rolled up inviting the outside in. Like I said it was a truly beautiful day! https://gasmonkeysturgis.com/ While we were there we had a few drinks and met some great people. One of those people was Mark Newton from Baja Street Dogs. Mark runs this non-profit mostly from Mexico. Currently registered in Cali, Mark is moving residency and the non profit to SD, much the same thing I am doing. We talked extensively about the operation currently and the designs for the future. It is highly likely Steve and I will be involved through multiple avenues going forward. We also got to meet several of the dogs-he was traveling with 21 in the short bus he was driving: Hunter a 14 year old very large lab whose 80 year old dad passed away and the son brought the dog to a kill shelter. 😡😡🤬🤬

It’s not just for businesses with a sign on the door. If you’re building something — a business, side hustle, online shop, service, product, community, or big idea — drop it in the comments. Share your link if you have one. Tell us what you do, who your client or customer is, and what you’re working on. Then scroll through the comments and check out what everyone else is building. Small business is small business — online, local, home-based, mobile, service-based, product-based, established, brand new, or still taking shape.
