🌀 The Secret to Getting Unstuck
When I was a kid, I loved those Chinese finger traps. Funny thing about them: the harder you pulled, the tighter they got. The only way out was counterintuitive—relax, lean in, and suddenly the trap would let go. That’s exactly how training and life work too. Pushing harder doesn’t always fix it. Sometimes, it just makes the stuckness worse. I’ve noticed it in my dancing: when I soften into the problem instead of fighting it, I find freedom faster. ✨ Practice This Next time you’re stuck in choreo, or struggling to nail a drill, pause. Breathe. Lean into it. Trust yourself. 👉🏾 And if you want to go even deeper, this is the type of breakthrough that happens fast in private sessions. Sometimes an outside eye helps you see where you’re pulling too hard. Message me if you’re ready to explore that. Question for you: Where do you feel yourself gripping too tight right now—in class, in practice, or outside the studio?

Behind the Practice: Rhythm & Bounce Drill
Wanted to give you an inside look at me practicing the Rhythm & Bounce drill. Here’s the breakdown of what I was working on: 🟢 0:00–0:13Dead stops — locking the movement for just a split second by squeezing elbows and knees. 🟢 0:14–1:00Running the same technique through the drill’s flow: head → shoulders → hips. The challenge here is freezing both physically and visually before dropping back into bounce. 🟢 1:01–1:47The hardest layer — instead of stopping, I changed the texture. After an isolation, I rolled into a smooth “jack” up (hips to head), then flowed back into bounce. This one pushed me. Even in practice, you’ll hear me admit when it felt difficult. That’s the work. That’s where growth lives. 👉🏾 If you’re hitting walls in this drill or want to fine-tune your texture control, this is exactly what we cover in private coaching sessions. Sometimes 1:1 eyes on you is what makes everything click faster. DM me if you’re ready to set one up. What’s been the hardest part of Rhythm & Bounce for you so far?

🌀 When You Finish, You Flow
Y’all ever feel like you’re not moving forward… like nothing’s really happening? That’s been me lately. I kept thinking it was because there weren’t enough opportunities in front of me. But then I realized—nah… it’s because I’ve got a bunch of unfinished stuff just sitting there. And the wild part? I can see it in my dancing too. • Routines I never fully learned • Drills I know would help but never finished • Classes I skipped • Even just studying choreo like I used to when I was a kid It’s so easy to chase the new thing. But honestly, the flow usually shows up when we finish the old things. The stuff that’s been waiting on us. That’s been my shift this week. And already, it feels lighter. Clearer. Like my body and my brain can finally move again. ✨ Try This Pick one thing you’ve been avoiding and finish it today. Could be dance, could be life. Doesn’t matter. Drop in the comments what you’re wrapping up—I’ll share mine too.
