Hi everyone,
I know this might sound like a simple question, but I’m still seeing quite a few YouTube videos claiming that you need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours to qualify for monetization. Just to confirm with the community — as of 2026, the updated requirements are 500 subscribers and 3,000 public watch hours within the last 12 months (or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days).
It’s great to see YouTube making monetization more accessible for smaller creators, and I wanted to double‑check this with fellow creators here to ensure we’re all on the same page.
Cheers everyone, Alex (TBFALEX)
