Monetization and LLCs

I haven't found any advice or discussion on this one so thought I would ask here. Does anyone have or plan to set up an LLC for a monetized channel? If not initially an LLC is there a threshold where it makes sense to do that or is it best to treat it as personal income? Any resources you can recommend for more information on this piece of the puzzle?

I intend to discuss with my accountant but would like more perspectives as I make these kinds of decisions. This is primarily US centric question but would love to hear some international experiences as well.
