Youtube allowing users to Hide End Screens
Hey everyone – so I just heard about some new changes YouTube is testing, and I thought I’d share my thoughts. You know those end screens that pop up at the end of videos – the ones with clickable links, other suggested videos, and subscribe prompts? Well, YouTube is experimenting with something called a “Hide End Screens” button. Basically, when the end screen starts to show up, a little button will appear in the top-right corner. If you click it, the end screens disappear so you can finish watching the video without distractions. And don’t worry – if you change your mind, you can click “Show” to bring them back. What’s interesting is that YouTube said when they tested this, the number of people clicking on end screens only dropped by about 1.5%. That’s not much at all, which makes me think viewers mostly like having the option, but it doesn’t drastically change behavior. The other change they’re rolling out is on desktop. If you’ve ever hovered over a creator’s watermark in the corner of a video, you might’ve noticed a little Subscribe button pops up. Well, YouTube is removing that popup (not the watermark). Their reasoning? There’s already a big subscribe button right under the video, so they want to simplify the interface. Honestly, it kind of makes sense, though I know some creators will wonder if that’s going to hurt their subscriber numbers. The good news is – none of this affects how creators set up end screens or add watermarks. It’s just about how viewers see and interact with them. YouTube says these are experiments, so we’ll see if they stick around permanently. Been a minute since I posted here
Been a minute since I posted here 😅. I’ve been tied up with client work, but I finally got a chance to share a couple of projects I just wrapped up. The first one is dsb-digital.co.uk a landing page for a SaaS platform that helps event organizers sell tickets online. The tricky part was keeping it clean and modern while also setting it up for QR check-ins and automated billing. The second is dsb-tech.com a personal site redesign for my client Dan. This one needed a fresh, simple, professional look that highlights him and his work without being too heavy. Both came with challenges, but I had fun working through them and I’d love to hear what you think. Also, quick note 👉 from now until October 10th, I’m offering a free website design. If you want a new site for your business, or a redesign of your current one, just reach out and we’ll chat through the details
Why eCommerce Changed Everything for Me
A little while ago, I realized something: running a business doesn’t always mean leaving your house, renting a shop, or carrying heavy stock around. Through eCommerce, I’ve been able to sell products straight from home. No commute, no extra stress just a system that quietly works in the background while I go about my day. The interesting part is how reliable it has been for me. What once felt impossible now feels simple, and the results have surprised me more than I expected. Sometimes I think back and ask myself: what made this actually work out?
Are You Avoiding the Very Challenge That Could Grow Your Business?
You know, procrastination kills more dreams than failure ever will. Most of us me included try to avoid challenges sometimes… but the truth is, the more we avoid them, the weaker we get. Think about business for a second. The whole point is profit, right? But what happens when sales aren’t coming in? That’s the tough part nobody likes to talk about. I’ve realized sometimes it’s not that we’re not working hard it could be something simple like our website, our store setup, or even the brand name that’s holding us back. I’m curious… have you ever felt stuck like that in your business? What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced with getting sales? I’m asking because I’ve been there too, and I’ve also found ways to fix some of those things. If you don’t mind, I can share a few ideas that might help.
