Worried About Being Exposed?
Today's newsletter is all about the fear of exposure aka imposter syndrome. If you've ever felt that, you're not alone! Here are some things I've done to overcome it when it hits. List your achievements. Put pen to paper and list out what you’ve accomplished. Yes, folding laundry on the same day as you wash it is an accomplishment! So is booking that vacation. So is starting a new sourdough starter. So is choosing to start a side hustle not knowing how it’ll turn out. So is just about anything that feels like a tiny step forward. Write it down. Change your inner soundtrack. You know the voice that tends to creep in between your ears and tell you you’re not good enough, ready enough, smart enough, whatever enough? Kick that voice out and swap it for something a whole lot more positive. As soon as your mind starts going down that familiar path of not being enough, tack on the word “yet” to the statement to position yourself for action and growth along the way. Block out the noise. If it’s not the voice in your head, it’ll be someone else’s voice at some point telling you that you’re not meant to be on that path. There will always be someone who’s eager to tell you you’re not good enough. People love shining a light on other’s faults because they fear the possibility of someone seeing their shortcomings. Block out the noise of other people’s opinions and the toxicity of social media. Instead, lean into an inner circle of people ready to encourage you. What would you add to this list so we can help each other get back to dancing in the spotlight and sharing our ideas with those who want to hear them?

SUBSTACK Notes
Substack users, how to you best utilize the notes section? Do you post information about your biz? Personal info about you? Or just info about your newsletter? I want to strike the right balance of promoting the newsletter, but making sure people SEE NCS and also feel like they know me too. Thoughts? Advice?
My new (and first) newsletter drops tomorrow!
I finally did it! I kicked off my newsletter. I am so excited. I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time. I released it in Substack with @Kimberly Crossland's help. The first edition releases tomorrow at 6am Arizona time. I learned a lot about substack - from categorizing my newsletter, to even just identifying/creating the various images. https://nextchapterstrategies.substack.com/ What am I writing about? I wanted to highlight small grassroots nonprofits and the good they are doing in their community. With all the clickbait out there, and drama taking the large percentage of internet bandwidth, I wanted to really bring these amazing organizations (and positivity) out into the light. I'm adding a twist of providing takeaways for other nonprofits/entrepreneurs to learn from. I know I may be WAY behind compared to the rest of you... I just wanted to celebrate getting this first newsletter out! If you have any tips that you have found you either enjoy about a new letter or find work best on your newsletter - I would love to hear them!

Psst... Next Week's Template is Now Available
I just posted next week's email template for you. This one is a little bit early because you might want to spend a little extra time writing it out since I've made it meatier than our usual check-in emails. Plus, I wanted to give you a few extra days to work on this before our connection call happening next Tuesday! Bring your questions, requests, etc. to the call so we can workshop your newsletter together live. The goal of adding some meat to the bones here is to help you stand out before Black Friday as THE PERSON/BRAND that helps others achieve big results. The more you can show the process ahead, the more likely it will be for your audience to cement YOU as the expert and go-to resource in their mind. Drop any questions, concerns, brainstorm requests, etc. here so I can help you pull out new ideas and get moving faster.

Stats for the win!
I just saw this article on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-most-experienced-marketers-do-differently-new-data-crestodina-zfsmc/ Check out the attached graphic. Experienced bloggers, by far, put more stats in their posts, which is more evidence of why this week's template is so powerful. ;) They also add lists (something I incorporate for you almost weekly) and pull from their original research or stories (another thing I advocate for you). And they post weekly or more, which is what you're here to do too! 🤩 Have you used this week's template yet? Drop a link below to it so we can check out how you're dropping stats as social proof in your posts.
