You know how they say that the thing that you're most scared of doing is the thing you most need to do? I recently experienced this.
Basically, there was this girl and I told her I like her. Upon hearing this, she was not particularly excited and she politely explained that the feeling was not mutual. Big Fat L.
Except, it didn't feel like an L at all. It felt like a big W. Because the moment I uttered the words "Julie (fake name), there's something I have to tell you…", I was suddenly teleported miles away from my comfort zone. And that's where growth takes place. Whether you're met with rejection or acceptance, that's out of your control.
So think about the things in your life that you have been refusing to act on due to a fear of failure or rejection. Remember–it feels much better on the other side.
Our wonderful founder Isaiah once said in a video, “rejection fades but regret lasts your entire life”. Embracing this mindset has made me a happier person and I think it will do the same for you.
