What's your take on using poly as a base to broadcast flake into? Considering no moisture issues

Literally didn't see it coming, came out of nowhere and we had to stop not even half way through putting a clear coat on 🤦🏻‍♂️ and even if we did setup a tarp like I normally do when it's a bit dripping, it wouldn't help at all, we got hailed on hard and then turned out customers garage roof vent was leaking, so fun fun all way around 🙄

The salt from the mail truck turning around has already deteriorated this driveway. This will be second winter since poured. Upstate NY. I have never done exterior coatings. Client needs a solution and I’m at a loss! Any help on product/procedure greatly appreciated.🙏
