YOU don't need to be the expert!
All you need is the VISION of the MOVEMENT!
But dude?
What exactly is a movement?
It is a CHANGE you want to see in the world...
...even if the change is SMALL
In fact...
a SMALL MOVEMENT feels doable!
(I'm not against big missions, but I like to start with small ones first.)
A SMALL MOVEMENT = CHANGE + DIFFERENT + DESIRABLE OUTCOME
Something must be done DIFFERENTLY and the OUTCOME must be DESIRABLE to people.
Now...
You might be thinking?
"Damn, Sago! Is that all? ๐How in the heck do I come up with that? It sounds easier to dump a bunch of content into my community!"
I feel ya.
I'm going to make this MUCH SIMPLER for you.
This will be a huge advantage.
Do ya know why?
NOBODY wants to share "more content", but they do want to share a MOVEMENT that is different and has a desirable outcome for people they care about.
This helps your community GROW all by itself.
It also means you can BRING IN experts, content and ALL the things you need for a community WITHOUT needing to do it YOURSELF!
They WANT to be part of a MOVEMENT!
So...
Let's break this baby down and make it simple.
This has worked super well for me.
Take an OUTCOME you KNOW other people WANT...
Find out WHAT THEY HATE about "how to get there" and make your movement about a DIFFERENT PATH TO GET THERE...
Using one or more of the following OUTCOME MODIFIERS:
Who, What, When, Where, Why and/or How
Let me use an example from one of our Flames: He is a truck driver.
I also know he wants to make an income off the road.
So the outcome = income
That is a "mission" because it's a goal and tangible.
Now we need to turn it into a MOVEMENT:
๐Who?
We can change the WHO.
In this case, TRUCK DRIVERS would be Spock logical.
A community for Truck Drivers who want to create income off the road sounds pretty good to me.
...EVEN IF that was the only modifier.
Now...
Jeff doesn't NEED TO KNOW HOW or EVEN HAVE DONE IT HIMSELF.
He just needs to have the VISION FOR THE MOVEMENT.
He can go FIND other truckers doing it.
He can FIND opportunities that would FIT a trucker's life challenges.
๐WHAT?
You can change the WHAT.
Instead of making the community about MAKING MONEY on the road, maybe it can be SAVING MONEY on the road - or BOTH.
The what could be the income opportunity itself. Trading stocks. Trading crypto. etc.
๐WHEN?
There are many ways to apply the 'when' modifier.
How about for Truckers who are 50+?
Because they are starting to feel their age and retirement is nearing?
How about when they are pulled over for the night? Part-time things they can do in an hour or two before crawling into the overhead to sleep.
๐WHERE?
At the truck stop.
In the truck.
At a rest stop.
California truckers.
Australian truckers.
From a laptop.
From Ebay.
Etc
๐WHY?
This is a biggie.
Why do they want the outcome?
Retirement.
Put the kids thru college.
Retire the spouse.
Get off the road for good.
Supplement their income and keep driving because they like it.
๐HOW?
There are 1001 ways to change the HOW.
From flipping items they can pick up in one city super cheap and sell in another.
to taking stock photos and putting them on stock photo sites for recurring royalties.
Do you see how the mods make this easier?
Now...
Here are a few more tips:
You are probably already part of the NICHE MOVEMENT!
He's already over 40.
He's already done some things to make an income.
He has his own reasons WHY that would likely resonate.
He does it from his laptop or other "where."
If someone put a bucket of poop over my head and said, "Give Jeff a community movement that would work for him or I'll dump this poop on you!"
I'd start with this discussion!
A community for "Long Haul Truckers over 40 who want to supplement their income from their laptop while they're at a rest stop" is a damn safe bet!
Last one!
It's not a requirement to have a financially successful community when it comes to mission...but it really, really, helps!
Do you LOVE the people?
If can't stand truckers... I'd scrap the whole idea!
I love small business owners who primarily do business online.
AKA - Internet Marketers
We've got our probs.
But...
I LOOOOOOVE internet marketers with a white-hot love!
I can't stop thinking about 'em.
For example:
I can't wait to push SEND on this post!
I hope it helps!
Cuz I LOVE YOU!
Rooting For Ya,
Travis
