Last week I gave a class on the importance of prepping and the various reasons one may see it necessary. One of our brothers was asking about different size packs and what should be in them. Going through my books I found a copy of the US ARMY Survival Manual. Every country I believe has its own version. FM 21-76Inside the first few pages are Acronyms for various things and one that stood out literally was SURVIVAL. It means different things to different folks But these are important basics. S - Size up your situation U - Use all your senses R - Remember where you are (Look for and memorize or record land marks) V - Vanquish Fear & Panic (Deep breathing , calm yourself before attempting to move or act) I - Improvise (What do you have to use around you) V - Value Living (Above all else you have to be willing to do what ever it takes to stay alive) A - Act like the natives ( Human and Animal) L - Live by your wits, but for now, LEARN BASIC SKILLS The Rule of Threes exists for a reason, its a survival basic that can be used in all survival or rescue situations. 3 seconds - Breath and think - stay or go - now what? 3 minutes - Without air and your brain goes into shock and you will die. 3 hours - Without shelter / fire (Heat) and exposure will begin to consume you. 3 Days - Without water your organs will become dehydrated and begin to shut down. 3 Weeks - Without food , your body will have exhausted the nutrients that your brain requires to sustain you. Life is a series of unavoidable circumstances, knowing how to act or react determines the outcome in all of it. Live Honorable

Beginning with the birth of our human race we have been "hunter gatherers" there were no grocery stores or Walmart's. We have become a DEPENDENT SPECIES, We depend on society for everything from the milk on our tables to the food on our plates and the clothes we wear. IF and when things eventually fall apart, what have any one of us learned that can prepare us for the next chapter of our civilization. Can you sew, plant, store, build or defend? Think about it what skills do you have that give you the ability or right (YES I SAID RIGHT) to survive the "Culling" our Governments are planning. They will hide while the world (NOT GOD) destroys itself from within. but who will feed them when the gates are closed? You? Your priority now as always is to your children wives and husbands, and your neighbor has the same obligation your neighbors family and hunger (within reason) is not your responsibility. There's an old saying, " give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him to fish and he may eat for a lifetime" but I will add "If he refuses to learn or listen he will starve by his own hand". Teach your children all you have learned no matter how relevant it may seem, turn off the T.V.'s internet, news, even the school for a weekend, no visitors no family or friends. Just you and your kids. teach them a skill that could save their lives if you were gone tomorrow - cooking, how to balance a checkbook, how to start a fire, how to build a shelter anything. We are now in a separated generational era. We and our children live in a world controlled by the phones in our hands, We live in a era of lost conversations, where children were guided by parental wisdom, many of the adults of our generation are just as dumb as the children they are raising. We have lost ourselves to tech that promised to make our lives easier - most are now slaves to it.

This is where I read, listen to and absorb knowledge. My sanctuary, my prayer room.

When you think you've done enough think again. Security is not just about cameras and fence-lines, it takes constant vigilance. Leaving crumbs in the yard are temptations that many look at as an invitation.
