Crossing my fingers
I’ve nursed these non- leaf cuttings in water until they showed some new growth and today I transferred to soil.

Just a little garden 🪴
I am far from an expert, in fact up until a couple of years ago, I labeled myself as a plant killer. But I am trying to learn and trying new things)) this is my little garden this time)) just some different veggies sprouts. I don’t even know what I will do with them, but it’s nice to see things growing from your hands))

New Plant
I went grocery shopping today after my appointment and found this lonely jade sitting on a shelf. It’s funny how the other day I said I wanted one and today I found one. And the bonus: it was on sale. 😀 I’m going to have to find a spot for it so it doesn’t get moved around too much. Right now my window space is at a premium but new plant lights are on the way. @Donna Golden I know you have a jade, but does anyone else? Let me know in the comments.

An After-Christmas Cactus
I guess I could call it a between Christmas and Easter cactus, right? My daughter found some on sale after Christmas so I asked her to get me one. It had tiny buds on it when I got it that had all but dried up. I brought it home, put it in my office window (south-facing), gave it a good drink of water, and left it alone. Within a couple weeks it was getting some new leaf growth and more recently (to my amazement) flower buds. I do believe this one is going to have white flowers. One thing I’ve learned over the years is these guys don’t like to be disturbed. All too often they’re moved from one spot to another in homes as soon as they’re in full bloom, just so we can enjoy their beauty. Shortly after the relocation they start to drop blooms and buds. It’s simply their way of telling us to leave them alone. I had a beautiful pink one about 20 years ago…until the kitties decided it was a good place to sleep. Needless to say it wasn’t beautiful anymore; in fact they completely killed it. (They weren’t using it at a litter box, just liked to sleep in it.) Now that this one has its happy place that’s where it will live. I just hope the temporary move when my blinds are being installed doesn’t hurt him. Have you experienced something similar with these plants? Let me know in the comments below.

Houseplants
When I was in Mexico 3 years ago I noticed that some of the plants and trees that grew there are considered houseplants here. The bamboo trees were quite large in comparison to the 2' tall one I have in my house, and the snake plants (aka Mother-in-Law's Tongue) were about 3' tall (whereas mine are in the 1' tall range at best). I loved seeing the banana trees and coconut trees filled with fruit. The banana tree I had many years ago did not survive one of my moves which was disappointing. I purchased some banana seeds so will be attempting to germinate them soon. (I was surprised to see the germination range is from 1-6 months!) It's amazing what a difference the warmer environment makes. Now that I think about it, isn't that why we have the miniature versions of the above (and so many others) plants: because we yearn for a tropical paradise when we're under a layer of ice and snow? As I look around my house I envision the larger versions of so many of my plants. The Monsterra, a ficus, umbrella tree, and rubber plant, just to name a few. I know I can let them grow bigger by putting them in larger pots, which I am tempted to do. It would be quite interesting to have an umbrella tree or ficus from floor to ceiling. What types of plants do you have in your home? Tropical or mostly succulents?
