Then connect with 3–5 people at each company on LinkedIn (recruiters, employees, hiring managers).

This builds familiarity and positions you like you’re already in the room.

2. Leverage Your Alumni Network (Underrated Advantage)

Reach out to your alma mater’s career center + alumni network.

These are highly underutilized—and many alumni prefer to hire other alumni.

Reconnect, ask for insight, and share your target roles.

3. Reactivate Your Network

Reach out to 5–10 people today (former colleagues, managers, recruiters).

Let them know exactly what you’re targeting and ask for referrals or direction.
