I had been looking at project management tools for a while. The problem for a small organization is that most of these tools require so much setup to accurately track your team's time that they become their own problem. You need visibility into your capacity, but you also need enough capacity left to do that analysis in the first place. So I tried something different. I opened Claude Code and said, "I want to build an app to help me with resource planning and cost to complete for my projects. Ask me what you need to know to build something that meets my needs." I sat back and watched it create files, organize folders, write code. I'm not a developer. I've never written a line of code in my life. When I opened it, everything was there. The interfaces I wanted. The inputs and outputs I needed. Nothing else. No features I didn't ask for. No AI add-ons being pushed on me. Just the information I needed, laid out the way my brain works.
