Someone explain Hermes to me 💬

What does it do that I can’t accomplish with vs code and Claude? I’m struggling to see where I’m missing out.

Maybe it’s that I don’t feel the need for persistent memory globally or that I don’t want to waste tokens outside of my projects but I kind of think there’s utility in being able to set a clean slate in a session every time. Sometimes I want Claude to have amnesia and not think some off hand comment I made is a preference.
