Day 1-2 and 3-4
Trying to catch up, and just reaching the Day 5-6 Stage.
Been playing around with the Clay table and built this table so far: https://app.clay.com/shared-table/share_0svnt61Zi4QXeMaWQYj
I have 2 main use cases I want to use Clay for
  1. Get lead lists so I can get link building clients
  2. Use it to categorize lists much faster, as part of my agency's link building process.
This table is a rustic attempt to attempt number (2). My idea is to automate as much of the prospecting process as possible. I can use APIs like DataforSEO to scrape Google for pretty cheap, and we can always download lists of websites from other places.
But for link building leaves 2 main issues I'm trying to solve
  • How to turn those lists into "segments" much faster than a human could.
  • How to get very specific contacts for those leads. For link building, it needs to follow a logic. E.g. Content title -> Editor -> SEO -> Marketing -> Owner etc etc.
The screenshot just shows me inputting a list I had of Addiction/Rehab clinic domains, and seeing if Clay could categorize it accurately, and automatically find a Marketing related contact, using Findymail. Not perfect because it couldn't find a category sometimes - but it probably needs a better AI prompt, and probably better logic to find a relevant contact person.
Findymail for me is pretty good, but looking into BetterContacts.
