The Prayer I Am Praying Based On Proverbs 15
Dear Lord, Help me, teach me, empower me to give soft answers, and not use harsh words. Help me to speak with wisdom and knowledge. Watch over me, lead me and let your word be a light onto my feet. Lord, help my mouth to speak gently, and make my word soothing to others. Allow my words to be an encouragement to others. Keep perversion far from my mind or lips. Help me to heed reproof, and not despise instruction. Help me to be righteous. Help me spread knowledge for your glory Lord. Please help me to be an upright and righteous person. Pour out your favor on me and upon my family. Allow my heart to be vulnerably open to you, completely filled by you, and set on serving You all the days of my life. Change me to have a glad heart and cheerful face. Bless my family with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of You and Your truth. Allow my heart and face to be continually cheerful. Help me to keep my deep reverence, awe, and respect for You, Lord. Help me to always obey and walk in your ways. Help me to be grateful at all times. Allow me to receive Your love, be full of Your love, and freely give Your love. Pour out your love upon me. Remove hatred far from our hearts Lord. Remove hot-temperedness from me and my family. Help us to be slow to anger. Help us to walk on the right path. Help me not to despise my parents, but to honor them in a way that is healthy and pleasing to You. Lord, please give many wise counselors to me, my family, and my church family. Allow me to find deep and lasting joy. Help me to give timely, and well crafted, replies to others so they may be encouraged. Help me to be prudent and wise, beyond what’s natural or normal, for my age and season. Lord help me not to be prideful, proud, arrogant, deceitful, slanderous, corrupt, selfish, or have haughty eyes. Help me instead to be humble, and continually make myself the student. Lord help me to have pure and gracious thoughts and words. Help me not to be greedy. Help me to think before I speak. Lord help me to view You as You are and not see You based on human failure. Help me to find great joy in humbleness and gentleness. Help me to find deep and meaningful connections with other humans. And please let this next year of life to be extremely blessed. Allow me to become a person who is deeply rooted in your peace and is not shaken by any external circumstances. Allow me to have a peace that makes no sense. Allow me to have peace way beyond what I could naturally muster with self control, allow me to walk in the fruits of the Spirit.
Proverbs 2 Devotional: Wisdom as Your Protective Shield
“for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you, delivering you from the way of evil… So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬-‭12‬, ‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Welcome back, friend. In this proverb a marriage related truth can be found: avoiding infidelity isn’t about avoiding people—it’s about staying rooted in the wisdom that keeps us centered and faithful. The Enduring Word commentary paints such a beautiful picture of this living, breathing wisdom, and how it shapes both heart and habit. 1.Wisdom is a treasured pursuit—not passive or accidental We’re reminded that wisdom isn’t acquired by chance. Solomon urges us to receive, treasure, incline our ears, apply our hearts, cry out, lift our voices, seek and search as diligently as mining for silver or hidden treasure. This pursuit is intentional, earnest, even strenuous. ** Invitation for you:** When you feel tempted, pause and ask, “Am I seeking His wisdom as passionately as I might chase unmet desires elsewhere?” 2.God gives wisdom—and guards us Proverbs makes it clear: wisdom comes from God’s mouth; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright. He is our shield and guard as we walk in righteousness. This isn’t a distant promise—it’s a present reality when we walk uprightly. ** Reflect with me:** Let the truth settle in your heart: God isn’t just our judge; He’s our protector. His wisdom isn’t harsh—it watches over and preserves. 3.Wisdom brings joy and steadiness When wisdom enters the heart and knowledge soothes the soul, discretion preserves and understanding guards—wisdom becomes both joyous and surefooted. ** Contemplation:** In moments of temptation—whether emotional drift or flirtation—ask God to fill your heart with the peace and joy of His wisdom, not the fleeting excitement of what leads away from covenant faithfulness. 4. Wisdom rescues us from seductive temptation
Prayer Activity
I encourage you to find a chapter of scripture that really speaks to you and use it as inspriation to craft a prayer that address the heart issues you are having right now. Journal it out and pray it. And then save it and pray it everyday. Constancy, dedication, faith, those are all necessary parts of being transformed by the Holy Spirit. It is a partnership between God and you. Will you choose to partner with Him today? Comment "ME" if you would like to see the prayer I have been praying daily?
